Cortney and Wayne's Gatsby style wedding in the industrial chic Peoples Natural Gas Park had every bit of class as the fictional high-roller's opulent parties, with a speakeasy themed reception and details straight out of the roaring 20's.
When Cortney and Wayne met, it was definitely a collision of two full and fast paced lives, she working in the healthcare field and he working in politics as a PA State Senator. Add in three adorable girls, and a long-distance relationship as Wayne traveled often for work in Harrisburg. The fact that these two could orchestrate and blend their lives together into something so beautiful was so impressive to me. They were just so in love and so excited to spend their lives together. There definitely was no dry eye in the venue when Cortney's new daughter, shaking and sobbing from nervousness, gave a toast into the mic, telling Cortney that "I'm glad you're my mom and I love you."
These little girls, as well as the rest of the bridal party, were a dream to work with as we traveled all over the city of Johnstown after the Orthodox Wedding at St John the Baptist in Conemaugh Valley. Seeking out the perfect classy, industrial, and natural backdrops to complement the style of the day, we then traveled to places like Central Park and The Inclined Plane.
Hors d' Ouevres and Martini Bars
Once we got to the reception, the bridesmaids, wrapped in beautiful floor length black gowns, donned perfectly-period feathered headbands, which mimicked the towering ostrich plume centerpieces at the family style tables. Opting for heavy hors d' oeuvres instead of a meal, every detail, down to the food, was classy and appropriate for the speakeasy style reception. Guests enjoyed martini bars, an assortment of cigars, a candy bar (with candy cigarettes), and a gorgeous patio dance floor outdoors under a pavilion by the water.
Gold and Pearls Wedding Details
Besides being a blast to experience the fun bridal party and guests, I adored every detail that took the venue from a warehouse feel to absolutely exquisite. Tables were adorned with gold sparkling runners, feathers, pearls, and gold mercury glass votives. Not to mention all the florals - classic red roses of course!
I hope you enjoy reliving this amazing day by some of my favorite moments and details highlighted below!
