Dan + Danielle | Car Themed Wedding at The Farm on the Ridge, Hooversville PA
I was looking forward to this car themed wedding at Farm on the Ridge in Hooversville, PA ever since I met these two. It's always good to share an interest with your spouse - whether it's TV shows, sports, or counted cross stitch (no? just me? haha!), having something that gets both of your motors running (I'll keep it light on the car puns I promise) is a really great way to keep the fun alive in your marriage! These two sweethearts met at a car show, oldies playing in the background, their Camaros drawing each other together. Dan's z28 is old school, while Danielle has a fiery orange Camaro with the new, sleek body style. For their engagement shoot, I learned that Dan loves to burn out his tires - so a lot of smoke, noise, and streaks in the middle school parking lot later (oops!) we had an awesome shot that perfectly captured their style.
Fast forward to their wedding day. Poor Dan had a rough start when the bolts on his z28's flywheel came off and he was broken down about 20 minutes from the venue. Luckily, the groomsmen were all handy with a wrench and had him fixed up in no time.
My favorite part was the unique ways Dan and Danielle incorporated their love of cars into the decor as well. They traveled to Carlisle over the summer to scavenge classic car graveyards to find emblems that would decorate and "name" each table at their reception. There were also pistons on the tables from engines they ripped apart! Talk about dedication and DIY to the extreme! So many of the elements in the barn-style reception venue were created by either Dan, Danielle or those close to them. Dan cut the log slices where the floral arrangements, assembled by his mom, sat. He also hollowed out and lacquered a huge tree stump and wood burned with their names for all of their wedding cards! And just wait until you see the "L-O-V-E" shaped table (yes TABLE) h grandfather made for the cake and cupcakes! This family can do it all!
Danielle is a photographer herself, so the pressure was on to do a good job, but she and her new husband were such a joy to work with, knowing photos are important to the bride! They happily let me haul them (car puns!) off at golden hour to get some of the most dreamy, breath taking photos I've captured yet. I hope you enjoy all the unique sweetness of their big day!
